Written by Site Admin

The Christian Home Educators Confederation of Kansas will host their annual “Day Under the Dome” conference at the Memorial Hall in the Capitol Complex in Topeka on Wednesday, January 20, 2010. DUTD offers an opportunity for home educators to come together to consider legislative issues that may impact them. The theme of this year’s conference is “Protecting Our Freedoms” and will focus on the importance of grassroots political activism.

The key presenters for the conference will be Attorney Scott Woodruff of Home School Legal Defense Association from Virginia and Kris Kobach, Professor of Constitutional Law, UMKC Law School, former Counsel to U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft. Additional presenters will include American Majority, TeenPact, and the National Christian Forensics and Communications Association. There will also be special presentations for teens.

The event will begin at 9 a.m. with a workshop for home educators that will range from how to get started to how to homeschool your college-bound high schoolers. The event will conclude with a 5 p.m. reception for legislators.
